The rural house known as “A Capecchio”, located on the Forci estate in the hills of Lucca, is composed of several volumes: a main house with a loggia facing west, a rural building with stables on the ground floor and haylofts on the upper floor to the south, and another smaller rural structure with mixed functions including a drying room, oven, and storage areas. All the structures are arranged around a courtyard that opens towards the valley, dominated by a centuries-old Lebanon cedar at its center. The design intervention primarily focused on restoring the external façades, with minimal changes for new openings. A new axis was created on the ground floor—an enfilade running from west to east—where a slightly lower-level terrace has been introduced, providing access to new underground spaces. The swimming pool has been positioned at the level of the first floor of the house, where an elongated portion of the garden is currently located. The pool will feature an infinity edge overlooking the 180° panoramic view of the Pieve S. Stefano valley.
